Today is Thursday, October 22, 2009. Today’s theme for the 2009 Challenge is RULE OF THIRDS.
Today we will focus on a technique, rather than a specific subject. One reliable way to compose an image is the Rule of Thirds. The Rule of Thirds is a compositional technique that helps position elements of a photograph in a balanced, pleasing way. Today, try to apply this rule and see what it does for your images.
If you would like to read some additional material, there is a good article on digital-photography-school.com, as well as Wikipedia.
Once you’re ready to submit your work to Flickr, you’ve got to do two important things. First, make sure you tag your photos correctly; “2009challenge″ and “2009challenge295“. Also, if you haven’t already, join the PhotoChallenge group on Flickr. Then, submit each day’s photo to the group’s pool.
