Today is Sunday, July 12, 2009. Today’s theme for the 2009 Challenge is CREEK/RIVER.

Since a creek and a river are so similar, you can shoot either one for today’s challenge. This challenge will allow you to experiment with your shutter speed to get the effect you like. If you want the water to look soft, shoot with a longer shutter speed to capture the movement of the water. If you want to stop the motion, shoot with a faster shutter speed. If you have an underwater housing for your camera, you could also experiment with some shots of the river bottom, or perhaps a fish-eye view of things. Above all, have fun!

Once you’re ready to submit your work to Flickr, you’ve got to do two important things. First, make sure you tag your photos correctly; “2009challenge″ and “2009challenge193“. Also, if you haven’t already, join the PhotoChallenge group on Flickr. Then, submit each day’s photo to the group’s pool.

About Steve Troletti

I'm a Location Scout, Editorial, Nature, Wildlife and Environmental Photographer based in Malibu, California. I specialize in Nature and Urban Nature photography including Infrared Landscapes. The Bulk of my work takes place in the Los Angeles, California area, Greater Montreal Region, Canada, Switzerland, France and Varese in Northern Italy. Ethical wildlife photography is the main priority and focus of my work. A minimum disturbance of the animals, their habitat and the environment is my top priority. This applies as much to total wilderness areas as it does to urban nature environments. Ongoing education of environmental issues and building awareness for the protection of wildlife and wilderness areas around the world is what drives me to document the beauty that surrounds us.
