2009 Challenge, Day 19: SILHOUETTES

"Flickr Meeting at Tusk", by ►Voj►

Today’s theme for the 2009 Challenge is SILHOUETTES.

The main goal is to get your subject(s) back lit. Allowing your camera to meter for the light, from behind, should underexpose your forward subject so much that he/she/it becomes nothing but a black outline in the frame. The real exciting part of the task is finding just the right subject, that outlines nice and dramatically. Go get ’em!

Once you’re ready to submit your work to Flickr, you’ve got to do two important things. First, make sure you tag your photos correctly; “2009challenge″. Also, if you haven’t already, join the PhotoChallenge group on Flickr. Then, submit each day’s photo to the group’s pool.

About Steve Troletti

I'm a Location Scout, Editorial, Nature, Wildlife and Environmental Photographer based in Malibu, California. I specialize in Nature and Urban Nature photography including Infrared Landscapes. The Bulk of my work takes place in the Los Angeles, California area, Greater Montreal Region, Canada, Switzerland, France and Varese in Northern Italy. Ethical wildlife photography is the main priority and focus of my work. A minimum disturbance of the animals, their habitat and the environment is my top priority. This applies as much to total wilderness areas as it does to urban nature environments. Ongoing education of environmental issues and building awareness for the protection of wildlife and wilderness areas around the world is what drives me to document the beauty that surrounds us.
