2021 WEEK 43 HALLOWEEN PHOTOGRAPHIC WHEEL OF INSPIRATION

I’d like to dedicate this special Halloween PhotoChallenge to Jules the Great Dane who sadly passed away this week. You all had an opportunity to meet Jules and his little Sister Lilly in my intro video at 1:43 for the 2020 WEEK 38: PETS, DOMESTIC AND DOMESTICATED ANIMAL PORTRAITS PHOTO CHALLENGE.

Nothing like halloween to spice The PhotoChallenge!

This year, I wanted to do what I wanted to do last year which because of COVID, I didn’t get to do either this year. Time crept up on me and I just got busy at the wrong times to put all of this together as per my vision and my will to bring you something extra special for the Halloween PhotoChallenge.

I decided to turn to our infamous PHOTOGRAPHIC WHEEL OF FORTUNE and convert it to a HALLOWEEN PHOTOGRAPHIC WHEEL OF INSPIRATION

It’s a little mix up of the old with the new. A spin may bring you back in time to one of our older Halloween Challenges or bring you to a new and wonderful idea to inspire a fabulous Halloween image. Naturally with COVID, if it really doesn’t fit your abilities to get it done as per the wheel, spin again. Please try and keep to one single spin and create from that point on.

DEFINING YOUR SPIN!

PET(S) IN HALLOWEEN COSTUME (May skip if no pets)

If you have no pets or access to a pet for Halloween, you may naturally skip this one and spin again. The pet may be dressed up or simply part of the decor. Below is an image to inspire you!

From my experience, Halloween has spread in many corners of our little round world. I’ve seen Halloween celebrations outside of North America in Switzerland, Italy and France… There’s always the chance that you don’t celebrate Halloween at all. It doesn’t matter, regardless of your location on planet earth, we’re not leaving you out of the PhotoChallenge that easily. Any fall-type celebration like Thanksgiving, or similar festivities like La Benichon in Fribourg, Switzerland, can be incorporated into this challenge in a creative way. That’s only if you don’t partake in Halloween festivities. For our friends down under, I know Fall is far from arriving. Please try your best to be creative 🙂

Challenge Summary

  • Take a new photo (Image) as per the WHEEL
  • Post your photo during the week of Sunday, October 24 and Saturday, October 30
  • Please remember to comment on at least FIVE photo submissions this week by answering the question “why?” in your comments. In other words, “why do I like (or not like) this photo?” or “why did this photo catch my eye?” Thank you!
  • HAVE FUN WITH PHOTOGRAPHY!

The friendly community guidelines are pretty simple

  • Take a new photo for the current weekly theme, not something from your back catalog or someone else’s image.
  • Post your photo each week to our active communities on Facebook or Flickr(or both). Tag the photo:  #2021photochallenge #photochallenge #tempusaura
  • Don’t leave home without your camera. Participating in the 2021 Trevor Carpenter Photo Challenge is fun and easy.

About Steve Troletti

I'm a Location Scout, Editorial, Nature, Wildlife and Environmental Photographer based in Malibu, California. I specialize in Nature and Urban Nature photography including Infrared Landscapes. The Bulk of my work takes place in the Los Angeles, California area, Greater Montreal Region, Canada, Switzerland, France and Varese in Northern Italy. Ethical wildlife photography is the main priority and focus of my work. A minimum disturbance of the animals, their habitat and the environment is my top priority. This applies as much to total wilderness areas as it does to urban nature environments. Ongoing education of environmental issues and building awareness for the protection of wildlife and wilderness areas around the world is what drives me to document the beauty that surrounds us.
