2013 Challenge, Week 31: EARTH

Earth seems to be a natural theme to follow FIRE and WATER, and it’s a theme with plenty of room for interpretation.

Will you be traveling by air? One interpretation of the theme could be a photo of the literal Earth from as high as most of us will ever get in our lifetime.

“Untitled” by Michael Banabila

“Hey Earth! I am above you.” by Hamed Masoumi

“Earth” can also mean the ground, soil, or dirt. All of us can find dirt or soil somewhere nearby, perhaps in our own yard or garden.

“a handful” by Pat Dumas

“À la vieille ferme… sillons de labour… divine odeur de la terre…!!!” by Denis Collette

Another interpretation might be a photo of a globe, or perhaps a map of the earth we live on.

“Peace” by Bart

Of course, if you happen to be on the International Space Station, a photo of our home from space would win you an award for the farthest travel to get the shot!

“Aurora Australis and Afterglow” by NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center

As always post your best shot and share with the Photo Challenge Community. Participating in the 2013 Photo Challenge is fun and easy. Post and share your images with the Photo Challenge Community on  Google+, Facebook,or Flickr.

Now get out and shoot!

About Steve Troletti

I'm a Location Scout, Editorial, Nature, Wildlife and Environmental Photographer based in Malibu, California. I specialize in Nature and Urban Nature photography including Infrared Landscapes. The Bulk of my work takes place in the Los Angeles, California area, Greater Montreal Region, Canada, Switzerland, France and Varese in Northern Italy. Ethical wildlife photography is the main priority and focus of my work. A minimum disturbance of the animals, their habitat and the environment is my top priority. This applies as much to total wilderness areas as it does to urban nature environments. Ongoing education of environmental issues and building awareness for the protection of wildlife and wilderness areas around the world is what drives me to document the beauty that surrounds us.
