2009 Challenge, Day 232: Half Self Portrait

Today is Thursday, August 20th, 2009. Today’s theme for the 2009 Challenge is HALF SELF PORTRAIT.

I’m a big fan of self portraits, even though I don’t take enough of myself. I also really like dramatic lighting, real close up, and generally odd looking self portraits.

Today, please take the extra few steps to use your tripod (or a stack of books on the kitchen counter), to get a nearly filled frame, self-portrait, of yourself. However, I’d like to see only half of your face. Of course the 3 examples here should completely explain.

Any questions? No? Good. Now go get to shooting!

Once you’re ready to submit your work to Flickr, you’ve got to do two important things. First, make sure you tag your photos correctly; “2009challenge″ and “2009challenge232“. Also, if you haven’t already, join the PhotoChallenge group on Flickr. Then, submit each day’s photo to the group’s pool.

About Steve Troletti

I'm a Location Scout, Editorial, Nature, Wildlife and Environmental Photographer based in Malibu, California. I specialize in Nature and Urban Nature photography including Infrared Landscapes. The Bulk of my work takes place in the Los Angeles, California area, Greater Montreal Region, Canada, Switzerland, France and Varese in Northern Italy. Ethical wildlife photography is the main priority and focus of my work. A minimum disturbance of the animals, their habitat and the environment is my top priority. This applies as much to total wilderness areas as it does to urban nature environments. Ongoing education of environmental issues and building awareness for the protection of wildlife and wilderness areas around the world is what drives me to document the beauty that surrounds us.
