Today’s theme for the 2009 Challenge is Black & White, Tree. This target is quite common, and easy to compose. All levels of photographer can properly photograph a tree. No matter where you live, you should be able to find a tree. Just don’t forget the fundamental goal here is to create a beautiful black and white image.

Trees can be wonderful with side light, casting great shadows. In fact, rigorous tree photography, focusing on learning how to capture wonderful natural light, will aid even your portraiture. With the light behind the trees, you can also discover awesome silhouettes. There’s just so many wonderful choices!

Once you’re ready to submit your work to Flickr, you’ve got to do two important things. First, make sure you tag your photos correctly; “2009challenge″. Also, if you haven’t already, join the PhotoChallenge group on Flickr. Then, submit each day’s photo to the group’s pool.
